How do I get my vocab file into the app?

Vocab files can be directly downloaded in the app from the ProVoc database or it can be copied to your device through iTunes File Sharing. To transfer through iTunes Files Sharing:

  • Open iTunes and connect your device with Vocab Pro installed.
  • Select the device in the 'Devices' section of iTunes.
  • Click the 'Apps' tab'
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and select your Vocab Pro
  • Click the 'Add...' button, select your ProVoc file and then click 'Open' (or 'Choose').
  • Click the reload button at the top left of the File Selection Screen if it is not immediately visible.

How can I edit my vocab files?

Files can be created and edited using ProVoc application on your Mac and then transfer the file through iTunes File Sharing (see above).

Can I import a CSV file?

You can import a CSV file into your ProVoc application on your Mac and then transfer the file through iTunes File Sharing (see above).

I've already unlocked 'Vocab Pro' but now that I've downloaded the app again, it is saying that I need to unlock it again. What can I do?

If you've already paid for the upgrade, then you won't need to pay for it again. Just tap the 'Buy' button when the app prompts you to unlock the app. Then you will be asked for your Apple ID and password. Make sure that you enter the same Apple ID that you used when you first got the app. Once you've then taped OK to that, then Apple will send a message to the app saying that you've already paid for the purchase and then the app will be unlocked again. Apple should not charge you again for it. Once you've done that, it's a good idea to back up your device through iTunes.

NB. 'Vocab Pro' and 'Vocab Pro HD' need to be unlocked and paid for separately.

I've unlocked the app on my iPad but when I use it on my iPhone, it is asking me to unlock it again. What is going on?

There are two apps: 'Vocab Pro' and 'Vocab Pro HD'. They both need to be unlocked separately. If you downloaded 'Vocab Pro HD' on your iPad and unlocked that, then you will have to unlock 'Vocab Pro' on your iPhone separately.

However, if you downloaded 'Vocab Pro' on your iPad and unlocked it, then you won't have to pay again to unlock it on your iPhone. If this is the case, then if you try to unlock it by putting in your Apple ID and password then it will not charge you again, but the App Store will send a message to the program saying that you've already purchased it and then it will be unlocked.

Your app is crashing on my iPhone/iPad. What should I do?

First, make sure that the app is up to date on your device. Go to the 'Updates' section in the 'App Store' on your device to see if there is an update available for Vocab Pro or Vocab Pro HD.

If you are sure that you have the latest version and the app is still crashing, then it is best to send the crash logs to us. Here is how you do it:

  1. Sync your device with iTunes
  2. Go to the crash reports folder.
    On a Mac it is
    ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/
(where ~ is your Home folder)
    On Windows Vista it is:
    C:/Users//AppData/Roaming/Apple computer/LogsCrashReporter/MobileDevice/
    On Windows XP it is:
    C:/Documents and Settings//Application Data/Apple computer/LogsCrashReporter/
  3. Find all the files which start with 'Vocab Pro' or 'Vocab Pro HD' and attach them to an email to support@Bible-Vocab.com
